The Week of March 8th

It has been a heavy week hasn’t it. The 8th March started a catalyst of events, none of which were particularly positive. However, the week began on Monday with International Women’s Day and certainly kickstarted the week in a positive light. I saw so many uplifting and supportive posts for friends, family members and even complete strangers. I really felt the internet had come together and was rallying in support for all women! Many brands got on board too! BT…

Four Tips for a Successful Start to Instagram!

Life as a graduate has not been easy. The last 6 months or so have been full of job applications, rejections and working wherever I can to gain that little bit of extra experience. What I have learnt in that time is that even though it is tough, it is so important to keep yourself motivated. So for me, finding a purpose outside of job applications has been so important to me. In recent weeks I began blogging again after…

My January Book Review

During 2020 many of us decided to utilise the extra time we were given as a result of each lockdown. I myself had the best ideas, and wished to make changes in my life. Productivity was going to be my friend. However, as I look back I couldn’t tell you one thing that changed over that period of time. I woke up (late), and spent my day either watching Netflix or volunteering (being able to volunteer one or two days…

A Pandemic Dissertation

All I can say is that this was incredibly unexpected. I have written my dissertation in my childhood bedroom rather than the stuffy, yet somehow cosy, Mountbatten Library. In some ways I am grateful. A one-month extension has allowed me to spend more time writing and reviewing, my focus being solely on this project. I have since realised that I have not discussed my dissertation on my blog, only an occasional survey share over on Twitter. So for those interested…

ASOS & Influencer Marketing: My OTP

I love ASOS. A bit of an odd start to a blog post I know, but I promise you there is a point. I love ASOS, everything about it. What it stands for, its clothing and its social media. I also love influencer marketing. I find it so insightful and such a resourceful use of social media. I guess you could say ASOS and influencer marketing are my OTP (that’s one true pairing if you weren’t a 12-year-old girl pairing…

May the Date Be With You

As soon as May 4th begins to draw nearer in our calendars, I think each of us will say ‘May the Fourth Be With You’ at one point or another. This date has become significant for its punny ways (a British trait I personally love). But, this year the Star Wars franchise decided to mark the day with the release of the latest film. I am sure this was a tactical Marketing move in order to gain momentum and hopefully…

My Blogging Story

My blogging journey began in 2014, and at the age of 15 I wanted to be an influencer (just like Zoella), become internet famous and have a laugh whilst doing it. (Only the last of those came true). So naturally, I created a YouTube channel and a blog to begin what I thought would be an exciting journey to becoming an influencer. Boy was I wrong. YouTube did not last the test of time. Don’t get me wrong I had…

Primark’s E-Commerce (Or Lack Of)

We all know that a multitude of businesses, both large and small, are struggling during this time. Many are forced to do whatever they can to stay afloat, from redundancies to permanently closing stores being the only feasible solutions. This week I read an interesting article from the BBC that stated that: “Clothing giant Primark has gone from making £650m in sales a month to nothing”. For some reason, Primark has never entered into e-commerce. Apparently, this is because they…

Dreams & Aspirations

This time spent in self-isolation has given my head a lot of space to think. As my degree is drawing to a close, I am beginning to think about my future and applying for jobs where I can. Obviously, in the current climate this is appearing to be somewhat a challenge. However, it has not stopped me from dreaming of my future and where I picture myself in say 5 or 10 years time. For some reason, I have always…

Finding Joy

I don’t know about you but for me at the moment some days are much easier than others. Many a time the thought of our current situation brings me down and saddens me, whilst other days I feel joyful and optimistic about what is to come. Finding joy whilst being isolated at home can prove to be incredibly difficult. However, it is at times like these when we must seek joy as a way of bringing some hope and happiness…
