I don’t know about you but for me at the moment some days are much easier than others. Many a time the thought of our current situation brings me down and saddens me, whilst other days I feel joyful and optimistic about what is to come.
Finding joy whilst being isolated at home can prove to be incredibly difficult. However, it is at times like these when we must seek joy as a way of bringing some hope and happiness into our lives. We might as well make the most of this unideal situation and have a laugh at the same time!
For me, living back with my parents feels a little like the Summer holidays. My mind is telling me to go outside and adventure with my friends. But obviously that cannot be done! And I have to admit, writing my dissertation in this glorious weather is tough, and comes with little joy I have to say. But, I am thankful for so many things, the safety of my friends & family and the opportunity I have to achieve those things that have taken a backseat over the years.
And isn’t social media amazing! It is bringing me so much joy each day. Tik Tok videos make me chuckle when I enter one of my many scrolling sessions of the day. Video calling friends brings a smile to my face after not seeing them for so long. Plus, the endless amount of quizzes I am doing still somehow bring me joy whenever a new one is suggested.
This season we are in is tricky for all of us, we have to adapt and change our whole beings to make sense of our lives. It seems that focussing our efforts onto finding joy is the only way to truly bring happiness to our lives.
